Politics, overseas studies senior first Rhodes scholar winner from SCSU

Conn. (WTNH) — A Southern Connecticut State Univerisity pupil is now a Rhodes pupil winner for 2021.

in response to Forbes, 32 students throughout the us have been picked and they are among the most different winners of the scholarship.

Asma Rahimyar, 20, is majoring in politics and overseas studies, pursuing a second bachelor’s degree in philosophy. She is the daughter of Afghan refugees. She is the primary-ever winner from SCSU.

Governor Ned Lamont tweeted out a congratulations for Asma asserting, “Connecticut is extremely pleased with your tutorial fulfillment and excellence. well deserved!”

The students will start their reports on the college of Oxford next October.
