NEWINGTON, Conn. (WTNH)– Police are investigating after over a hundred automobiles were broken into in Newington in a single day Tuesday.
Newington police say that all the way through the overnight hours, over one hundred vehicles have been broken into and a lot of had gadgets stolen from them.the vast majority of the automobiles had windows that were smashed in so the suspects may benefit entry.
in accordance with police, all the vehicles were located in either agencies or residence complexes along Kitts Lane, between the Berlin Turnpike and Griswoldville Avenue.
Shattered home windows are only the beginning. Thieves took mobile phones, cash, Christmas presents left on the seats.
“a lot of these automobile wreck-ins are involving individuals leaving presents of their vehicles, Christmas gifts or valuables, so please don’t go away that within the car right now.”
“It’s now not as simple as changing the glass. unluckily, a lot of the doorways had been pried open, the glass is tempered and it breaks falls into the door, and loads of time it gets bound up inside the window motor,” Dan Hovey, Turnpike Motors Autobody.
