Connecticut’s Senators Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal drove in from Washington D.C. this week and stepped up to the microphones Tuesday night to explain this closing-minute Christmas reward, which to many is more like a lifeline.

The 5,600-page aid package includes bucks for corporations, schooling, intellectual health, transportation, and direct relief to families.
